Plant Progress

Lines around the face are hard-won evidence of our years traveling around the sun, but splotchy skin riddled with spots can sometime just be the result of livin hard under the sun. Thankfully, there’s a new kid on the block that can replace bleaching creams and hard-on-our-health hydroquinone—Arbutin, a kinder and gentler way to fade our daily sins.

What is Arbutin?

A phytochemical derived from the Bearberry plant.

What does it do?

Prevents melanin formation by inhibiting tyrosinase. Fades current dark spots. Brightens skin.

How is it different than hydroquinone?

First, hydroquinone is banned in Europe and Japan, so its safety is questionable. Hydroquinone is toxic to living cells which is how it kills melanin cells, so it can only be used for a few months at a time.

Arubtin is safe and gentle enough to use twice daily, every day, with no interruption.

Arubtin is a globally accepted ingredient.

Can it be combined with other actives?

Yes, in fact Vit C and Niacinamide all help amp up the benefits of Arbutin to make it a powerhouse.
